When Is The Best Time for Newborn Photos by Los Angeles Best Newborn Photographer
As one of Los Angeles best newborn photographers, I recommend scheduling newborn photo sessions within the first two weeks after bringing your baby home. Here are some reasons why and below are some other common questions I get;
- Oh So Tiny: Babies change quickly, and that "brand new" look fades fast.
- Baby Acne: Often, baby acne develops after the second week.
- Flexibility: Newborns have in-utero flexibility which allows for those adorable curled poses.
- Sleepiness: Newborns sleep more soundly and frequently within the first two weeks, making it easier to pose them.
- Reflux: Older babies may start developing reflux or spit-up issues.

I didn't book a newborn session and my baby is already here. Is it too late?
Not at all! While some baby photographers may book up quickly, many, including myself, try to accommodate last-minute bookings. I understand how quickly babies change and the desire to capture these fleeting moments, so I do my best to fit in your session.
Being a Los Angeles newborn baby photographer, I understand how busy life can be then adding an infant into the mix can be extremely overwhelming. Just ordering food becomes a task so let me take the stress off of your newborn photoshoot. I got you!
Does My Baby Have To Sleep During The Session?
No, your baby doesn’t have to sleep, although they often will. I have techniques to gently soothe babies to sleep, but capturing them awake can be just as precious. The key is to go with the flow and capture the natural moments as they happen.
What If My Baby Cries During The Photo Session?
Crying is normal. I nearly two decades of experience soothing infants, and your baby will be safe, comforted, warm, and loved during the session. We’ll take breaks as needed to feed, soothe, and change your baby. Your baby leads the session, and I aim to make it a positive experience for everyone involved.
What if My Baby Pees or Poops During The Session?
It happens, more than you know! I use protective pads and have spare blankets to handle any messes. Timing the photos to avoid these mishaps helps, but I’m prepared for anything. And yes, I've been pooped and peed on!
What Happens After Our Newborn's Photoshoot?
After the session, I will select and edit the best photos. About a 10 days later, you’ll receive a link to a web gallery of your images. Depending on your chosen package and after you have selected your images I will send you a download. You may also order prints and other products. I offer a variety of print options for heirloom-quality memories. I also suggest using MPIX.com for your personal printing needs.
