Photographing Twins - Tips by Maxine Evans

Here are just a few tips for photographing twins during a milestone session.

Schedule the milestone session during the happy time of THEIR day.

Allow them to be silly and to interact with each other.

I feel like that's when their little personalities will shine through.

Photograph them individually!

I do this when one is being changed or needs a little break.

Serious shots. Let them happen. Sometimes those can be the client's favorite.

This shot below has brother's little hand on sister's foot... so so sweet!

Lastly, keep your sets brief and make sure to give them breaks. Whether it's a twin session or an individual session, babies this age get bored quickly and they also get tired quickly. The goal is to keep them happy and comfortable. Unless your client is standing over you with a stop watch (which has happened to me) allow those breaks. Your clients will appreciate you taking care to do what's best for baby and they will love the results.
